This is probably my most eventful project pan update ever. I have made more progress than in any other one. So I’m either becoming better at panning or better at planning the items that go into my pan! For the intro to this project, see here.
The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel (Boxycharm Item, $20) – LOST
The longer I live without this, the more I’m remembering it fondly. I truly do not like the tinted brow gel from The BrowGal that I’ve been using. This was so much better.
Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Brow Pencil (Boxycharm Item, $12) – DONE
This pencil is too dark to really be universal. Initially the pencil was quite soft and usable, but I found I liked it less and less as I went on. I’m not sure if the formula changed or if I became more discerning. Regardless, I wouldn’t repurchase.
Pure Marula Facial Oil (Boxycharm Item, $65) – DONE
Since using this product up, I have purchased the Tarte Maracuja Oil. I know different types of oils have different benefits. However, I like the physical application of the Tarte oil better. It’s a little thinner and absorbs more quickly. This product has a much nice scent than the weird, nutty scent of the Tarte oil. I wish I could have the quick absorption of the Tarte oil with the scent of this Marula oil. That said, I haven’t been using the Tarte oil long enough to say the difference the benefits.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Eye Cream (Sample size; Full size is $48. Value of sample is $16.) – DONE
I do not think this product is worth the value. I’m not really sure there’s a value to undereye creams at all.
Two Deluxe Sample Size Mascaras:
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara (Deluxe size; Full size is $23. Value of sample is $12.46) – DONE
It Superhero Mascara (Deluxe sample; Full size is $24. Value of sample is $13.60) – DONE
I’ve heard the IT Superhero mini is different than the full sized. I just got a full sized one in my Boxycharm, so I guess we’ll see soon.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 103, Natural Buff (Retails $12.99) – DONE
I did enjoy this drug store foundation. I would probably repurchase. Right now I’ve managed to have three foundations I need to use. One of them is almost done.
Smashbox Light It Up Contour (This is one of three mini palettes that were in the Smashbox Light It Up Kit from 2016, the whole set retailed for $45. The closest available item is this Smashbox Contour Kit. Estimated value of each shade is $5.)
My goal was to use up the highlighting powder. I’ve been using it to set my undereyes. Once I repressed it, it kicked up a lot of powder. So I went through it more quickly. But I’ve also worn a lot less make up the past month. This powder can actually make the undereyes look dry and crepey if over applied.
I’m pretty pleased with the progress on the contour shade. Though when I was out to dinner with a friend this past month, she did interrupt herself mid-thought to ask if I had contoured. So perhaps my zealousness in using this product went a little overboard. Blend blend blend!
Blinc Eyeshadow Primer (Boxycharm Points Purchase, $26)
I dropped the ball on this. I can feel that there’s less liquid inside, but I just haven’t used much eyeshadow lately. If I have, it’s been a light look. I need to up my game. I put the UD Born to Run palette on my Christmas list, but I can’t really have more eyeshadow in my life if I’m not using what I own. Using this primer is one strategy for encouraging fun eyeshadow looks.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner (Retails $22)
This isn’t my new holy grail liner. However, it’s so much better than the Kat von D Tattoo Liner. That said, I think it just got to the point where it’s too dry to use. Meaning, I may have actually panned it.
Bite Beauty Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai (Sephora Birthday Gift 2018; Full size is $26. Value of sample is $8.67.)
The most exciting thing in my life right now is that I’ll be going to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab next week to make my own custom lipsticks. This Sephora birthday gift was the intro to me loving Bite Beauty. I didn’t make a ton of progress, but panning lip products is difficult. I’m pleased with what I did.
Lord & Berry Eyeliner (Boxycharm Item, $19)
I’m very pleased with my progress with this. I think I began making progress when I gave up on the makeup adage that lining your waterline makes your eyes look smaller and gave in to the fact that… I just love the way it looks. It hearkens back to my high school wanna be punk phases. And I like the way I look and feel with black-rimmed eyes. This is one of the best pencil liners I’ve used for my waterline.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (Boxycharm Item, $10) – DONE
Despite my protests that this product doesn’t smell nearly as good as most bloggers say, I’m sorely tempted to pick up the holiday bundle at Sephora during their annual sale. It is just so moisturizing and quickly absorbing. I find that a lot of lotions either appear to absorb, but sit on top of your skin, pilling if you touch your skin later, or they stay damp too long. This is a great formula.
I probably only have one more project pan this year! I’ve really enjoyed project panning to complete my 12 for 2018 New Year’s resolutions. I am thinking of maybe doing a long term, year-long project pan for next year (19 by 2019 or something similar). I’m not sure if that will help my project pan fatigue or make it worse. All I know is I’m itching to see how quickly I can use up that cuticle oil…
