This is probably my most eventful project pan update ever. I have made more progress than in any other one. So I’m either becoming better at panning or better at planning the items that go into my pan! For the intro to this project, see here.
The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel (Boxycharm Item, $20) – LOST
I lost this very shortly after posting the intro to this blog. After trying a different brow gel, I miss this. The new one is also The BrowGal, but it’s tinted and tends to transfer. I find I don’t really need brow gel usually.
Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Brow Pencil (Boxycharm Item, $12)
I like how soft and easy to use this formula is. It’s an awfully dark pencil, though; so I’m skeptical of its “universal” claims.
Pure Marula Facial Oil (Boxycharm Item, $65) – DONE
Now that I have used this up, I am out of face oil. I’ve gotten used to using them and feel it’s really improved my routine. Now I just have to decide if I rebuy this or get a different one. I genuinely thought there was more left in here than there was when I started this pan!
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Eye Cream (Sample size; Full size is $48. Value of sample is $16.) – DONE
I did not see noticeable changes while using this product. I’ll try some other eye creams, but I have no complaints about this either. I guess that isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement. This just didn’t address the specific undereye issues I have.
Two Deluxe Sample Size Mascaras:
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara (Deluxe size; Full size is $23. Value of sample is $12.46) – DONE
It Superhero Mascara (Deluxe sample; Full size is $24. Value of sample is $13.60) – DONE
The Tarte mascara was super flakey. And the IT Cosmetics dried out quite a bit. I thought I would be able to make it through October with these two, but I’m going to toss them now. Life is too short to wear mascara that isn’t good anymore, especially when you have mascara coming in your Boxycharm that you haven’t tried out yet! I would rebuy either of these, but I prefer the IT Cosmetics one between the two.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 103, Natural Buff (Retails $12.99) – DONE
I’m so proud of finishing this. I even did the thing where you cut it open and use the very last bit of product. I would consider buying this, but in a different shade. Since this oxidized on me, it didn’t work well if I hadn’t blended every single last bit into my skin well enough. That’s not great for dreary mornings rushing to work.
Smashbox Light It Up Contour (This is one of three mini palettes that were in the Smashbox Light It Up Kit from 2016, the whole set retailed for $45. The closest available item is this Smashbox Contour Kit. Estimated value of each shade is $5.)
I hit some serious pan on the contour shade! And I was doing awesome on the highlighting powder. But then I dropped it, and I had to repress it. I didn’t do a great job. I pressed it too loosely, and it kicks up a lot of product now. I’m still pleased I finally made progress on this. How many projects has this been in!?
Blinc Eyeshadow Primer (Boxycharm Points Purchase, $26)
This is not measurable. And once again I forgot that I was using this! I’m trying to encourage myself to wear eyeshadow more often. I did not hit the 5/7 days a week I was aiming for. But there’s still the rest of the month.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner (Retails $22)
I am surprised by how this hasn’t dried out yet. I really love this felt liner and use it most days. I would definitely repurchase it, but I’m still on the look out for a replacement for my VERY beloved Rimmel Glam’Eyes Liquid Liner. I wish the felt tip trend would fade and we would go back to brush tips!
Bite Beauty Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai (Sephora Birthday Gift 2018; Full size is $26. Value of sample is $8.67.)
I love this formula. I’m super pleased with my progress on this shade! I finished about half of it and feel I have a good shot of finishing this product in October.
For those keeping track of my lust for the Saffron Fire shade… I did pick it up during a Sephora sale… along with four others. One step forward, four steps back. But I wanted it fiercely and debated for a long time before biting the bullet (lipstick).
Lord & Berry Eyeliner (Boxycharm Item, $19)
I really like this eyeliner. I moved away from lining my waterline because the internet told me it makes my eyes look smaller. But, you know what, it’s kind of my style. I like the way I look with my waterline lined! I’ve had to sharpen this pencil two more times since I started this pan. This pencil is hard to use up because it lasts so long. If I wear it two days in a row without thoroughly scrubbing off traces of the previous day, it tends to migrate under my eyes too.
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (Boxycharm Item, $10) – DONE
I used this up thanks to a weekend away and a sunburn. I do like how thick and moisturizing this is,and I like the scent. If it were cheaper at all then I could see repurchasing. I need a good dupe!
After October I’ll probably only have one more project pan this year! I’ve really enjoyed project panning to complete my 12 for 2018 New Year’s resolutions. However, I am getting a little tired of it. I think I’ve already learned some of the skills I wanted to from this.
